• The importance of the time interval for tumor response assessment following receipt of chemoradiation and effects on clinical complete responses
• Indications for salvage abdominoperineal resection and oncologic outcomes
• Future clinical trials, roles for treatment escalation/de-escalation on disease control and functional morbidity
