Activity Description
This virtual tumor board discussion will include:
Phases of COVID-19 pandemic
Regional variances/differences including direct impact of COVID-19 case numbers and impact on hospital/hospital system workflows
Treatment guidelines during COVID-19
The following cases will be discussed:
Patient with long-standing pigmented lesion on back, darkened and became more nodular; biopsy 1.3mm, non-ulcerated melanoma.
Patient with lesion on upper arm, initially thought it was secondary to trauma in a fall, associate right shoulder pain; biopsy 8mm, ulcerated melanoma.
The moderators for this virtual tumor board are Tina Hieken, MD, Mayo Clinic and Richard White, Jr., MD, Atrium Health. Panelists include surgical oncologists Genevieve Boland, MD, PhD, Massachusetts General Hospital and Christina Angeles, MD, University of Michigan and medical oncologist, Asim Amin, MD, Atrium Health.
