Endocrine Cancer Surgical Perspectives during COVID-19
Activity Description

SSO President-Elect, James R. Howe, MD provides various perspectives on endocrine cancers and COVID-19. Dr. Howe is the Director, Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, IA.

The following podcast features a conversation with individuals who are experts within their respective fields and are members of the Society’s Disease Site Work Groups. SSO supports the need for treatment decisions to be made on a case-by-case basis. The surgeon’s knowledge and understanding of the biology of endocrine cancer, alternative treatment options, and the institution’s policies at the time the patient will be scheduled for surgery all need to be taken into consideration.
